Every since seeing the now iconic work of Greg Klassen, I've wanted to make my own River Table. For years it was sitting on a mental back burner, as I had neither the space to put the finished piece nor access to a live-edge slab that grabbed me with a real feeling of "Wow!" Recently, while visiting a local hardwood supplier, I came across a perfect slab of elm. Full of gorgeously burled grain, I didn't want to pass this opportunity up. Although I still didn't have the space for the finished piece, I did have friends with both enough space and enough faith in my abilities to fund me making this project a reality. The next day the slab was in my truck and headed home for its new adventure.
